  2. Sony introduces new raw recorder AXS-R7 for PMW-F55 and F5 CineAlta Cameras with version 8.01. Features of the new recorder: High speed 4K capture Compared to previous Sony 4K recorders, the AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder doubles 4K RAW recording from 60 fps up to 120 fps from the F55 camera*. For shooting at higher frame rates, the recorder captures 2K RAW at up to 240 fps from the F55 and F5, for playback with 10x super slow motion.** Also X-OCN can be used for 4K/2K high speed shooting. *4K 120 fps recording only available for F55. In Addition to the RAW recording Format – RAW SQ, New recording format, X-OCN In addition to F55RAW, AXS-R7 has new camera capture format X-OCN. X-OCN stands for Extended tonal range Original Camera Negative. X-OCN has two recording mode, X-OCN ST (Standard) and X-OCN LT (Light). X-OCN ST is visually indistinguishable quality from F55RAW by 70% data size of F55RAW. X-OCN LT is 40% data size of F55RAW. These choices are completely non-destructive and the full potential of the original sensor data is delivered into post-production by 16-bit scene linear data. 30-second cache recording With the recorder, 4K shooters can take advantage of RAW / X-OCN cache recording at 23.98p for up to approximately 30 seconds (*) while in standby mode, an important feature in documentary or wildlife production where capturing spontaneous action is required. (*Target results. Actual performance may vary based on environmental conditions and usage). · Durable dust and splash-proof metal design The AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder has a strong, durable metal body built to work in testing conditions in the field. With a thicker metal body than predecessor 4K recorders, the AXS-R7 is dust and splash-proof, with electric parts and the ventilation shaft separated by a metal filter to prevent the entry of dust and water. Dual memory card slots support high-speed AXSM memory cards The AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder features dual memory card slots and work with sleek, high-capacity, high-speed AXSM A Series memory cards, which are designed to support the write speeds required for 4K RAW /X-OCN 120 fps recordings. * AXS-R7 Portable Memory Recorder does not support AXS Original memory card (AXS-512S24).
  3. The Samurai is a portable touchscreen-operated HD recorder, monitor and playback device for video professionals. It captures pristine 10-bit 4:2:2 video and audio direct from any camera with HD/SD-SDI output. The Samurai consumes very little power, ensures long recording times (up to 16.5 hours on a 750GB disk) and the efficient use of batteries. The Samurai opens up the efficient and cost-effective world of file-based workflows from an intuitive touchscreen monitor. Capture content in real-time directly from the camera sensor and encode it to Apple ProRes or Avid DNxHD formats, eliminating the lossy, time consuming capture-to-edit process. Bypass the image-degrading compression of in-camera flash storage, and use the limitless and cheap storage of your own removable 2½-inch hard disks. Key features of the Samurai’s AtomOS operating system include record triggering via a start/stop flag or timecode, SmartMonitor focus/exposure monitoring assist (including focus peaking and false colour) and SmartLog for pre-editing (reviewing, marking and tagging) footage. Use Samurai to play directly on-air from a remote location: full quality HD-SDI playback from a deck in the palm of your hand. Continuous Power on the Samurai allows you to unplug the depleted battery and replace it with a fully charged one without interrupting recording. The Samurai comes with an AC power adaptor and two Lithium Ion camera batteries, which offer up to 10 hours battery life for continuous power both on location and in the studio. The Samurai is built from aircraft-grade aluminium. It’s light and can be mounted almost anywhere. All accessories come in a rugged case: batteries, chargers, disk caddies and a PC/Mac docking station. Just add your own HDD or SSD hard disk.
