  1. 15 Minute Pit Stops In 2025, it will only take 15 minutes to recharge your car. In these circumstances, what would you do with those 15 minutes to recharge yourself while you recharge your car? Send in your pitches for a 3 to 5 minute original short film that tells the story about a future where you have 15 minutes to yourself to do whatever you want while you wait for your car to recharge. A total of 3 pitches will be chosen to make into short films. If your pitch is one of the winners, you will receive a production budget of $15,000 to produce and deliver your short film in three weeks. Your pitch should be in English and include an original title, a written script, a concept explanation, a budget breakdown of your proposed 3 to 5 minute film, your biography, and links to your previous work. Bids may also include visuals such as story boards, mood boards, or sample images. The finished films will be promoted through a paid social media campaign and live on BASF’s website.   3. The Gatekeeper is a story of an old man, who is in charge of an isolated rail crossing in the city outskirt. Accepting the alienation, he tries to find tiny little moments to keep himself engaged in this uninterrupted land. The film unfolds a day in his regular life when loneliness makes him hallucinate about his childhood, in the interim period of two trains. But eventually his imagination breaks like a house of cards and reality prevails when the last train arrives. Director: Atanu Mukherjee Atanu Mukherjee is an alumnus of Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute Kolkata. He has directed a documentary 'My House Is Not So Far' funded by PSBT and Doordarshan India 2010. He has also written, directed and edited short films Ekanko (The Monologue) 2009 and Stray Dogs 2013, which won Best Short film in Cinema City Film Festival 2014 Serbia and was a part of International Documentary And Short Film Festival Kerala 2014 in Competition Section. One of his recent works as a Writer & Director is a short film named 'The Gatekeeper', which was a part of 'Shuruaat Ka Interval' and got a theatrical release in PVR Directors Rare on 15th August 2014. He has also worked as an editor on feature film Monsoon Shooutout, which was a part of Cannes film Festival 2013. He also edited three other feature films Achal (The Stagnant), Blemished Light & Shortcut Safari.

  5. THE IDEA The idea of a Winston Fletcher Prize came about when a number of Winston’s friends and former colleagues decided that his extraordinary life deserved a lasting legacy. Amongst his many other achievements, Winston was a prolific and eclectic writer of both non-fiction and fiction – he published more than 15 books and over 3,000 articles. “A MAN OF EXTRAORDINARY ENERGY AND INSATIABLE CURIOSITY” Richard Lambert So it was decided that an annual short story competition would be both appropriate and something of which he would have approved. Entry to the competition is open to anyone who works in advertising, marketing, or related businesses. The theme or subject for the story will change each year, but will always be connected to one of Winston’s passions. THE BRIEF For year one, the subject is the one he spent the most time thinking and writing about: advertising. The short story (maximum 4,000 words) does not necessarily need to be about, or even set, in the advertising world, but just needs to imaginatively reflect the subject. There is a cash prize of £2,000 for the best short story. A jury chaired by Tim Waterstone will decide the winner. It is hoped that the best half dozen or so of the stories will also be published.   8. Manhattan Short Film Festival (MSFF) has called in all Indian filmmakers to send in their short film entries to compete at the global film festival. This year, Festival Director Anil Sadarangani has collaborated with Mumbai-based PR, to bring MANHATTAN SHORT to India in the last week of September 2013. All the films in India languages, other than English must have subtitles. Deadline for entries is July 31, 2013. Established in New York City in 1998, this is the fourth consecutive year that Manhattan Short comes to India. Interested filmmakers must send their films directly to New York.
  9. PSBT invites proposals for SHORT documentary films of up to 10 min. each, exploring 1. Feminism 2. Gender 3. Sexuality We hope to commission between 3 and 5 films under each of the three themes. We encourage you to submit innovative and imaginative proposals that engage with these subjects powerfully. The films could be analytical, observational, narratives, animation, self-reflective, social commentaries, quirky, satirical, intense, humouros and more. We seek articulations on personal and larger experiences with feminism, gender and sexuality, either singly or as overlapping realities. Filmmakers will be granted up to a maximum of Rs One Lakh for the film and provided between 2 and 3 months for completing the Film. Each applicant can submit only ONE proposal. Filmmakers will need to submit mixed and unmixed masters of the Film on DVCAM Tapes. The last date for submitting proposals is 15 June 2013.
