S35 Sensor Camcorders

Slowly as S35 Sized Sensors become the norm, almost every major manufacturer has an option. Here, trying to put them together.

 

JVC LS300 : Compact, convenient, and ultra high definition! The GY-LS300 is equipped with a 4K Super 35 CMOS sensor and accommodates a wide range of cinema and photographic lenses and adapters for dazzling cinematic effects. Create hours of pristine recordings on SDHC/SDXC media in a variety of image formats including 4K Ultra HD, Full HD with 4:2:2 sampling, SD and web friendly proxy formats. Conventional DSLR cameras simply can't match the high reliability, long recording time and ergonomics provided by JVC's GY-LS300. Its dual codec design allows you to make 2 copies of your program simultaneously. You can even stream live HD over the internet to content delivery networks such as USTREAM while recording full HD. No other removable lens video camera offers this much flexibility in such a compact, easy-to-handle form factor.

Cinema 4K and Cinema 2K Recording for the ultimate cinema look (Version 2.0 available September 2015)
    Record images in Cinema 4K (4096 x 2160) at 150 or 70 Mbps, or Cinema 2K (2048 x 1920) at 50 Mbps. Both modes support recording in 23.98p or true 24p to match the frame rate of film.

4:2:2 Full HD recording at 50Mbps
    The GY-LS300 records 4:2:2 HD signals up to 60p at 50Mbps making it an ideal camera for general HD production work. 50Mbps files are stored in the Quicktime (.MOV) format for easy editing. Conventional AVCHD (4:2:0) recording is also possible, providing wide editing compatibility in an array of standard HD and SD formats.

Panasonic Varicam LT is slightly expensive but still cheaper than the high end S35 offerings.

14+ Stops of Dynamic Range with V-Log

To maximize the dynamic range, the V-Log gamma curve offers 14+ stops of dynamic range and facilitates advanced color grading adjustments in post-production. The VariCam LT also permits the assignment of various LUTs to individual recording channels and camera outputs.

Dual Native ISO of 800/5000

The unique dual native 800/5000 ISO setting offers true innovation for cinematic image capture. Use ISO 800 for shooting at conventional light levels, but shoot ISO 5000 in low light levels where conventional lighting setups are impractical or not permitted. At ISO 5000, the VariCam "sees" better in the dark than you. With lighting needs much reduced, you'll work faster and more efficiently, saving setup time and enabling faster turn-around.

Native 4K/60p Shooting

The LT records in 4K (4096 x 2160) or UHD (3840x2160) resolution at 60p (60 fps) to produce smooth, high-resolution images when recording fast-moving action scenes.

Multiple Codec 4K/UHD/2K/HD Recording

The VariCam LT delivers superior image handling in multiple formats ranging from 4K, UHD, 2K, HD and ProRes, and like the VariCam 35, is fully capable of High Dynamic Range (HDR) field capture. The new 4K camcorder offers Apple ProRes 4444 (up to 30p) and ProRes 422 HQ (up to 60p) support for HD recording, as well as Panasonic's AVC-ULTRA family of advanced video codecs Using the 256 GB expressP2 card, the camera can record about 90 minutes of 23.98p 4K video with AVC-Intra 4K422.

Sony NEX FS100 is another option. Though for some reason, I prefer FS7. 

Equipped with a large CMOS sensor equivalent in size to Super 35mm film, the NEX-FS100P enables shooting with the same creative depth of field as the PMW-F3.

The sensor also features the optimum number of effective pixels for shooting HD moving images. At a high 50fps in all-pixel scan mode, this allows images to be captured with less colour aliasing, jaggedness and rolling shutter than DSLR cameras, while providing the sensitivity to shoot at a minimum illumination of 0.28lux*. Another advantage of Exmor™ technology is minimal noise when shooting low-light scenes.

* When using a fixed shutter speed of 1/25, auto gain and an iris setting of F1.4. The SEL18200 lens supplied with the NEX-FS100P enables shooting in illumination as low as 1.5lux when using a fixed shutter speed of 1/25, auto gain and auto iris

And there is the Sony NEX-VG900 unfortunately the camera is discontinued.
