Chhichhore : Film Review

Post by MEDHAVINI »

Chhichhore:

Life teaches us a lot of things on a daily basis and the best lessons are learnt by individually walking on that thin wire.

Chhichhore opens up the pandora box of individual touch-downs and outbursts of nostalgia.

Each individual has lived through the best days during their school & college life, so when the reality of competition dawned on us, back then, we all ended up feeling bogged down badly, trust me a feeling, every individual has definitely felt surfacing up while climbing the ladder of age!

This film revolves around a child (Mohammad Samad) who has a loving family with its own personal bag of reasons of rifts & drifts. The child who is the apple-of-the-eye of both the parents, is at the threshold of getting into a prestigious college based on his awaited competitive result!

Mother of the child, who apparently drifted out of the wedlock over the years, is gracefully played by Sharddha Kapoor, the character is very convincingly detached yet committed to her motherly duties.

The doting & supportive middle-aged father of our teen, who's balancing work and parenthood, is portrayed by Sushant Singh Rajput, and is very relatable to half a dozen new-age fathers!

Just when the pages of the story are warming up everyone's heart on screen, a well timed twist brings a gamut of characters with shades of vibrant colors of life and emotions. When everything is looking rosy and well carved by pragmatic achievers, fate construes a different story, flipping the coin of life at the hands of lady luck. The incident plays havoc on the parents lives and leaves them yearning for the warmth lost somewhere while climbing the ladders of materialism.

The supporting cast is remarkable and performances of each one is better than the other giving the audience a spicy taste of distinct differences of characters. Varun Sharma & Saharsh Kumar Shukla are class apart.

How the matured father pulls the loose reins of the three lives after convincing the hopeless mother & super supportive gang of friends, creating a conducive environment for their son to learn the real lessons of life for a better tomorrow and a wiser future, makes this film a worthwhile watch for suppose-to-be realistically cool parents of next generation teenagers.

Music from Pritam Chakroborty is as always musically refreshing. "Khairiyat" song in Arijit Singh's voice is mush at its best  & has been rocking the charts.

The film will be able to open up windows for new-age parents to their children, as they go on moulding their kids into materialistic charmers, unknowingly building pressures, creating false insecurities and instilling some shallow thoughts, resulting into a confused youth. More parents should raise smarter kids who are not only capable of battling the survival & existence game of life but also individuals who are high on emotional quotients capable of beating the rat races and flourishing as a worthy humane human!!
