You : Netflix Original Review

Post by MEDHAVINI »

YOU (Season 1) - Netflix Original

Human emotions are the most complex aspect of God's creation.

The frailty of the person's understanding-misunderstanding, judging-analyzing horizons   and the facets of the human brain all make the complexity even more deep.

Netflix's original- YOU, deals with a mammoth array of emotions and the significant effect of present day compulsions with varied emotional consequences, making it worthy enough for serious watching! The complex protagonist Joe (Penn Badgley, charming actor) falls in love with vivacious college-goer Beck (Elizabeth Lail) and how life , love, longing and deceiving spins the life of the characters playing part in the drama, is a craft on its own. There are high's and the low's of this love tale too, as any other love-story but the on-the-edge twists and turns add color to the audiences canvas.

Greg Berlanti & Sera Gamble, the creators have conceived this one in a very tasteful manner for the ever-attention hungry youth of today.

Each character portrays the typical colorful, whimsical, superficial life, today's youth mostly aspires to live through which a ray of old charm squeezes out at random intervals and how the deep rooted torments of one's personal life can create more chaos to people living around.

Interestingly, co-character, Peach (Shay Mitchell) is significantly stronger than any other character and turns out to be a head turner in her own screen space. Peach symbolizes the snooty girls who are everything but loud and so prim and proper that one would think a hundred times before even standing before the scrutinizing eyes.

Joe's love interest, Beck, is the sweet girl-next-door with a lot of layers of misery unfolding the beauty of our true damsel in distress, yet somewhere deep down, she's a fierce fighter with a hundred watt smile to warm up the dingiest of rooms.

A fine love chase of a   man with a trunk full of secrets, a dash of surprise in every move of his, and an old world charm to light up nooks and corners of the pace of the story, makes YOU one of the much applauded- Original, Season 1 !!
